Ruinous Dirty Politics of India

This great nation of ours has great potential to become a so called super power. It’s so obvious with nearly 60% population in the age group of 20 to 40 years. One can accomplish any loft goal with this powerhouse of youthful talent but this gain may be converted into a huge loss if this youth power gets frustrated and take to streets, since they all need employment and opportunities to hone their skills. Somehow that’s not happening. Results are going to be disastrous. Who is to blame ?. The answer is straight and simple. the dirty politics of this country.

Let me paint the political canvas for my readers although they all know about it. We have 5 major players in India’s political arena. BJP led by Narendra Modi, Congress Party led by Sonia Gandhi, Samajwadi Party led by Mulayam Singh and his son Akhilesh Yadav, Mamta Banerji of Trinmul Congress and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Admi Party. Let us now take up the ‘report card’ of all these parties, one by one.

Mr. Modi of BJP came to power on promises of good governance, developement, bringing back black money stashed in foreign bank accounts, ending corruption etc. However most of his promises have not been fulfilled but he assures people of India that give due time frame, all those promises will be fulfilled. Somehow he has failed miserably on the economic front as two of NDA’s union budgets have nothing for employment of Indian youth, nor there is any hint of a major economic reform (like ones that Dr. Singh brought in 1991) As regards Congress, the party itself is not sure as to what it wants for the dear country except blocking legislation in the Parliament or not allowing it to function. The son of its President is a youngman who often shoots his mouth in the foot to become a laughing stock for most Indians who call him ‘Pappu’ . What else can you expect from this party. Forget any idea of nation building from a party that has looted India by corruption in its rank and file in recent past and will always be remembered for huge scams and scandals during the so called UPA rule. As regards Mulayam-Akhilesh jodi of Uttar Pradesh, they may be called the kings of crimeland (UP) where Yadavs or SP goons can commit any crime without fear. Their Government is a shining example of ‘Bhai-Bhatijawad’ (nepotism) . All Police stations and administrative posts are occupied by Yadav caste. Lord Krishna must be happy for them as his descendents rule the most populous state of India.  Come Trinamul Congress of Mamta Banerji, who has replaced CPM in a way which may be called a change of dress. They were ‘red’ Trinamul is ‘blue’. The goons of CPM have shifted loyalties to TMC but there is no change in the age-old ‘Gunda-Raj’ started by CPM. Of course there is one change and that is more corruption (Sardha scam in which top TMC brass was found to be involved) and collusion with terrorists in Bengal. As regards  AAP and Arvind Kejriwal, the less said-the better. Here is a leader in which public saw a messiah who will end corruption in Delhi but the poor folks soon discovered that some of his own ministers were corrupt. Now it is not the same Arvind Kejriwal who used to be a crusader against corruption but today’s kejriwal is a guily politicians like any other politicians. The man has big ambitions in forthcoming Punjab elections where he could muster some support due to public’s resentment against corrupt regime of Badal .  Arvind has made Delhi a battle ground between Central governemnt and his Delhi government. Consequently the poor people of Delhi have been caught between the fight of devil and monster.

So what do we do when all major parties are busy in dirty politics at the cost of welfare of the masses of which 40% are damn poor people living in India’s villages and urban areas. Will they revolt against these politicians playing dirty politics and ignoring the welfare of people. While they are fighting amongst themselves for power and dirty politics, we , the people continue to suffer. The issues that our political parties are fighting for are not the issues that concern the masses, who are busy making both ends meet somhow. The present ruling party spokesmen say that people are more well off then they used to be previouly under corrupt UPA Raj. Narendra Modi has announced many schemes for the poor and so on….etc. but they forget we still have 200 million people, who sleep hungry, one in every three children born in India is underweight, we dont have universal access to potable water and primary healthcare, 60%  Indians defecate in open due to lack of toilets. Well, I mean these are the real  issues and the biggest challenge for the country or for these  loud-mouthed politicians who indulge in fighting for non-issues on account of their dirty politics.

Thus the politics being played by these leaders is ruinous for our country. Already swathes of areas in Chhattisgarh, MP, West Bengal, Andhra, Telengana, Assam and other north eastern states are being ruled by Naxals and other groups taking advantage of horrible state of poverty in these areas. If the politicians continue in their antics of dirty politics, the day is not far when an all out bloody revolution may take place. A scenario of doom but quite possible under the circumstances. if we want to avoid such eventuality, the politicians need to stop their games of dirty politics in the broader interest of the nation and address the aforesaid issues of poverty and destitution with all seriousness and in a consensual manner.
